Erdoğan wants to bring Trump and putin together in Istanbul to discuss ending war in Ukraine

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan wants to organize a meeting between US President Donald Trump and russian dictator vladimir putin to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

Erdoğan made the relevant statement on Friday, July 25, according to Hurriyet.

"During this week, we will strive to hold meetings with mr. putin and Mr. Trump to try to bring these leaders together in Istanbul," Erdoğan said.

Recall, in June, Trump said that he was ready to go to Istanbul to take part in peace talks, but on the condition that putin would be present at them.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the third round of talks between Ukraine and the aggressor country of russia took place in Istanbul on July 23.

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian delegation arrived in Istanbul to raise the issue of the release of prisoners, the return of deported children, and the preparation of a meeting at the leadership level.

The day before the talks in Istanbul, on July 22, it became known that Ukraine had transferred to the russian federation lists of prisoners for an exchange based on the formula 1,000 for 1,000.
