Musk opens diner after leaving Trump
Despite his controversial experience as a presidential advisor, running SpaceX and owning the social network X, Elon Musk has taken on a new project - a diner. The establishment opened this week in Hollywood.
It combines a charging station, a drive-in and a classic American diner, which, according to Musk, serves "classic American food - burgers and milkshakes", as well as wagyu chili, breakfast tacos and "ice nitro" matcha. The menu includes a number of familiar options with local ingredients, including fried chicken and waffles, the Tesla burger and the Diner club sandwich.
Customers can watch movies on the diner's giant screens or in their own vehicles, having received access to the Tesla diner app.
Musk first floated the idea for the restaurant back in 2018, promising to create an "old-school drive-in with roller blades and rock 'n' roll" near one of Tesla's new Superchargers in Los Angeles.
Construction of the two-story silver building began in 2023 and was completed this year - just as Musk began to increasingly appear in political life as the head of the so-called "Department of Government Efficiency" in the Trump administration, dealing with mass layoffs in the federal government.
According to Fox 11, the ground floor of the establishment has an area of about 350 square meters, another 510 square meters are occupied by a summer terrace and a food preparation area. According to the restaurant's website, Tesla owners can place orders directly from their cars. Musk also said that the establishment will be open 24 hours a day - for both Tesla owners and anyone who wants to.
The Ukrainian News Agency recently wrote that the billionaire changed his phone number after a conflict with US President Donald Trump, which occurred in early June of this year, and after Musk announced his intention to create his own political party in the US, Tesla shares fell sharply - by almost 8%.
