Trump, putin and Xi Jinping may meet in China this fall – The Times

Chinese leader Xi Jinping may invite US President Donald Trump to Beijing in September, where russian dictator vladimir putin has already agreed to come, The Times reported on Friday, July 18.

According to the publication, China is seeking to reset its relations with the US president and organize a summit with russia. The PRC announced plans to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II with a parade in Tiananmen Square in September, which Putin has agreed to take part in. The signing of several trade agreements between the US and China has given reason to assume that Trump will also be invited to meet with Xi Jinping and Putin at the summit in September.

"If President Trump visits China and takes part in the parade on September 3, it will send a strong positive signal to the world. The image of the leaders of China, Russia and the United States standing together could be a powerful message of peace and stability," the article says.

However, some analysts believe that Trump is unlikely to want to be among the invited guests, but would rather meet with them on US soil.
