In July 2023, the Verkhovna Rada changed the dates of state holidays, in particular, the holiday established the Day of Ukrainian Statehood on July 15 instead of July 28, on this day the memory of the outstanding state-builder, the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince of Kyiv Volodymyr the Great, is also now honored.

The Verkhovna Rada made this decision after the Orthodox Church of Ukraine officially switched to celebrating Christmas according to the new Julian calendar, namely on December 25, instead of January 7.

As a reminder, today Ukraine celebrates one of the most important holidays in the formation and further development of the state - the Day of the Baptism of Rus by Prince Volodymyr.

The Ukrainian News Agency reported on this day in history.
