Trump says he made no progress in talks with putin on Ukraine, comments on latest call
US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that a phone call with russian leader vladimir putin had made no progress in efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
It was reported by Reuters.
"I didn't make any progress with him at all," Trump said in brief comments to reporters at an air base near Washington before flying west to Iowa.
Recall that on July 3, US President Donald Trump had a phone call with russian dictator vladimir putin, which lasted about an hour.
In addition, after the end of this call, a russian drone attack caused a fire in a residential building in the northern suburbs of Kyiv.
The publication noted that US attempts to end russia's war in Ukraine through diplomatic means have largely stalled, with Trump facing growing calls, including from some Republicans, to increase pressure on putin to hold serious talks.
Meanwhile, according to putin aide Yuri Ushakov, during the nearly hour-long conversation, the two leaders did not discuss the recent pause in US arms supplies to Kyiv, which lasted almost an hour.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russian dictator vladimir putin told US President Donald Trump during a phone call that moscow allegedly wants to end the war in Ukraine through negotiations, but will not back down from its original goals.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump are expected to hold a phone call on Friday, July 4.
