Zelenskyy personally appeals to Trump with proposal to purchase additional Patriot systems
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appealed to the United States for additional Patriot systems to protect Ukraine from missile attacks by the aggressor state of the russian federation. This was announced during a press conference with the head of the German Foreign Ministry in Ukraine, Wadephul, by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
Thus, Andrii Sybiha reported that the russian federation has intensified attacks on Ukraine with missiles and drones and that now the russian army is no longer the same army that it was in 2022 thanks to combat experience and the latest technologies that they are introducing into their military-industrial complex.
"They are also gaining combat experience. They are also using the latest technologies, testing them on the battlefield. They are also advancing in the development of their defense. This is a threat not only to Ukraine - it is a threat to transatlantic security. We see that they have increased strikes on cities. They are striking civilian objects to sow panic, to influence the mood of our population. To prevent this, air defense systems are certainly key," Sybiha noted.
He also stated that Ukraine hopes for further assistance from the United States.
"We very much hope that we will receive additional systems from our partners. Let me remind you that we have contacted the American side. President Zelenskyy personally addressed President Trump with a proposal to purchase additional air defense systems, namely Patriot, which can shoot down ballistic missiles," Sybiha stated.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Donald Trump stated that the United States will "look" into whether they can supply Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems, because America also needs them.
Earlier, the Head of State of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied information that Patriot air defense systems were damaged or destroyed as a result of the recent massive strikes by russian occupation forces.
