Lack of equipment. Russia returns outdated T-62 tanks to front – Defense Intelligence

The aggressor country russia is returning outdated T-62 tanks to service due to an acute shortage of modern main battle tanks. This is stated in a message of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Saturday, June 28.

Russia is decommissioning tanks that were manufactured before the 1970s, as it experiences a lack of industrial capacity and a shortage of imported high-tech components. On June 27, the aggressor transferred 21 T-62 tanks from the Eastern Military District to the European part of the russian federation.

"The technical condition of most of these vehicles is unsatisfactory: the tanks have been stored outdoors for decades, without maintenance. However, due to the acute shortage of modern main battle tanks, such as the T-90M and T-72B3M, the use of the T-62 is considered a temporary but forced solution," the report says.

Russia is trying to compensate for the large-scale irreversible losses of weapons and military equipment during the war against Ukraine by returning obsolete military equipment, the Defense Intelligence emphasized.
