US strikes three key Iranian nuclear sites - Donald Trump

On the night of June 22, US President Donald Trump announced the task of the US military to carry out airstrikes on three key Iranian nuclear facilities - in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. President Trump wrote about this on the social network X and the social network Truth Social.

Thus, Trump stated that the main target of the attack was the nuclear facility in Fordow, which he called the main one.

"We have completed our very successful attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. All aircraft are now outside Iranian airspace. A full load of BOMBS has been dropped on the main site, Fordow. All aircraft are returning home safely. Congratulations to our great American soldiers. No other army in the world could have done this. IT IS TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this issue," wrote Truth Social on social media.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the US strike was carried out at around 2:30 am local time.

The BBC also reports that Fordow is the most fortified facility in Iran's nuclear program, a uranium enrichment plant hidden in the rock. It is potentially threatened only by 13-ton bunker-busting bombs, which only American B-2 bombers can carry.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the US does not rule out the scenario of using tactical nuclear weapons against Iran.

Meanwhile, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi have held several telephone conversations since the start of Israel's strikes on Iran to find a diplomatic way to end the war.
