Death toll from massive russian shelling on June 17 rises to 24 in Kyiv

Today, June 18, rescuers unblocked another body from under the rubble resulting from the russian strike on a high-rise building in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv, bringing the total number of deaths from the attack on June 17 to 24.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

"Kyiv: the death toll from the russian strike on a 9-story building in the Solomianskyi district has risen to 19 people - another body was unblocked from under the rubble," the report said.

Thus, in total, 24 people were killed in the capital after the russian attack on the night of June 17, another 134 were injured.

The State Emergency Service emphasized that rescuers have been working non-stop at the scene of the tragedy for the second day - they continue to sort through the rubble and search for people.

As a reminder, rescuers continue to clear the rubble of a nine-story building in the Solomianskyi district of the capital, which was hit by a missile during a massive attack on June 17. Early in the morning, 21 people were reported killed, including 16 in the Solomianskyi district.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine stated that the combined missile and drone attack by russian armed forces on the night of June 17 is likely the deadliest attack on Kyiv in almost a year.
