NBU fines Tihipko's bank for UAH 11 million in May

In May, the National Bank fined businessman Serhii Tihipko’s bank TAScombank for UAH 11 million.

The NBU has said this in a statement, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

TAScombank received a fine of UAH 11 million for violating a number of requirements of current legislation.

In addition, the bank received a written warning.

At the same time, a fine of UAH 2 million was received by UkrSibbank for violating the requirements of paragraph 4 of part two of article 8 of the Law On Prevention and Counteraction to Legalisation (Laundering) of Criminal Proceeds, Terrorist Financing and Financing of Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction in terms of improper fulfillment by the bank of its obligation to conduct due diligence on existing clients.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Serhii Tihipko is the owner of the TAS financial and industrial group.

On the financial market, the group is represented by TAScombank, Universal Bank (Monobank), TAS insurance company and TAS insurance group.

In April 2025, the National Bank allowed the owner of the TAS group, Serhii Tihipko, to indirectly acquire 100% of the shares of Idea Bank.
