Russia wants to restart Zaporizhzhia NPP and turned to IAEA for help - Sky News

The aggressor country of russia wants to restore the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and has turned to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with a request for intervention.

This is reported by the British publication Sky News.

Today, June 6, russia asked the IAEA to become a mediator between Moscow and Washington to resolve the issue of what to do with American nuclear fuel stored at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

The head of the russian corporation Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, held a meeting with the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, during which he stated that the russian federation is ready to either use American nuclear fuel or facilitate its export to the United States.

According to Likhachev, russia has prepared a comprehensive plan for the phased commissioning of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. However, its implementation requires the elimination of military threats.

Russian state media reported that Grossi allegedly stated that the IAEA was ready to mediate on the future fate of American fuel.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 3, IAEA head Rafael Gross stated that there were currently no proper conditions for restarting the Zaporizhzhia NPP occupied by the russians.

Shortly before this, Reuters wrote, citing its own sources, that the IAEA allegedly saw no signs that russia was preparing to restart the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
