Defense Intelligence confirms that russia uses Shaheds with 90-kg warhead
The russian troops have begun to equip Shahed attack drones with new warheads with increased weight - from the standard 50 kg of explosives to 90 kg, which are produced in the russian federation and Iran.
The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced this, Hromadske reports.
The Defense Intelligence reports that one of them is produced in the russian federation, and the other in Iran. The warhead, which is produced in russia, has a combined cumulative, fragmentation, high-explosive and incendiary effect. Another Iranian-made warhead has a combined cumulative, fragmentation and high-explosive effect.
The Defense Intelligence notes that the use of strike UAVs with these new warheads will allow the occupiers to inflict greater destruction on the military and civilian infrastructure of Ukraine, and the russians will be able to save their stocks of more expensive high-precision missile weapons.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early May, the occupiers of Kharkiv were attacked by a russian Molniya drone. In order to hit as many people as possible, a bag of nails was attached to it.
We also wrote that in April of this year, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the only enterprise in the russian federation that produces fiber optics for UAVs.
We will remind, in February, russian troops began using a new UAV to strike at populated areas of Ukraine. The police showed what it looks like.
