Russians shot 2 more POWs of AFU in Pokrovsk Axis. Prosecutor's office launched investigation

In the Pokrovsk Axis, russian occupiers shot two more Ukrainian prisoners of war. An investigation has been launched. This is announced in a statement by the Prosecutor General's Office.

Thus, according to law enforcement officials, on the morning of May 22, the russians stormed the positions of the Defense Forces near the village of Udachne, Pokrovskyi district, where four Ukrainian servicemen were performing combat missions. During the offensive, the occupiers captured two Ukrainian defenders and shot them unarmed in a forest strip with machine guns. The fate of the other defenders is currently unknown.

The prosecutor's office emphasized that the intentional killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualifies as a grave international crime.

"Currently, urgent investigative (search) actions are being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident and the persons involved in the commission of the specified crime," the prosecutor’s office added.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 11, representatives of the army of the aggressor state of russia captured three servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk Region. The occupiers shot one of the unarmed captured defenders with an automatic weapon.
