10 drones hit semiconductor plant in Oryol Oblast of russia - General Staff

Overnight into May 21, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit the Bolkhiv Semiconductor Plant in the Oryol Oblast of the russian federation. This was reported by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"This is one of the leading enterprises in the russian federation in the field of development and production of semiconductor devices and components. The main areas of activity are the production of semiconductor devices, microelectronics, power electronics, diodes and diode assemblies, microcircuits for switching power supplies, optoelectronic switches, servo drives.

The enterprise supplies products to at least 19 enterprises of the russian military-industrial complex, related to the production of, in particular, Sukhoi aircraft, Iskander and Kinzhal missiles," the report says.

The plant is under international sanctions, but annually produces almost 3 million devices, and about 700 people work there.

"The district has achieved the target of ten UAVs. A fire was recorded. Detailed information on the consequences of the destruction of the facility is being clarified," the General Staff added.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, drones previously attacked a fiber optic systems plant located in Saransk, russia.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) struck a military airfield in the city of Kubinka, Moscow Oblast. It was home to two aerobatic teams of the Air Force of the aggressor country, russia, which annually participate in the Victory Day parade.
