Presidential election begins in Poland

Today, May 18, voting began in Poland for the presidential election, in which 13 candidates are participating.

This is reported by PAP.

Thus, voting started at 7 am on May 18 and will last until 9 pm. Almost 29 million voters have the right to vote in the presidential elections in Poland.

The ballot includes 13 candidates:

  3. Grzegorz Braun (MEP),
  4. Szymon Hołownia (Speaker of the Sejm, candidate from the "Third Way"),
  5. Marek Jakubiak (MP from the "Free Republicans" group),
  6. Maciej Maciak (leader of the "Prosperity and Peace" Movement),
  7. Sławomir Mentzen (candidate from the "Confederation"),
  8. Karol Nawrocki (President of the Institute of National Remembrance, candidate from the "PiS" party),
  9. Joanna Senyszyn (former MP from the SLD, economist),
  10. Krzysztof Stanowski (journalist),
  11. Rafal Trzaskowski (Mayor of Warsaw, candidate from the "KO"),
  12. Marek Woch (candidate from the "Non-Party self-defense"),
  13. Adrian Zandberg (MP, candidate from the “Razem” party).

Currently, until the end of the vote, there is an election silence, which is broken by any element of active election campaigning - public appeals or encouragement to a certain way of voting.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in Poland it was stated that the country is facing an unprecedented attempt by russia to interfere in the presidential election by spreading disinformation and cyberattacks.
