"Why should he go if I'm not going." Trump comments on putin's absence from talks in Turkey
US President Donald Trump said that the president of the aggressor country, russia, vladimir putin, did not come to the talks in Turkey because he was not there. Sky News writes about this.
"On the day when vladimir putin was expected to meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Turkey for peace talks, the russian president will not come. But Donald Trump does not seem particularly surprised by this," the publication writes.
Answering journalists' questions about why putin will not come today, Trump said: "Why should he go if I am not going?"
"I do not think putin can go if I am not there," he added.
Recall, Trump said on May 14 that he was considering attending the talks on the war in Ukraine, scheduled for Thursday in Turkey, but he did not know whether putin would go to them.
