Two Trump Envoys to travel to Turkey for russia-Ukraine talks - Reuters

US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, and US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, will travel to Istanbul on Thursday, May 15, to participate in possible talks on ending russia's war in Ukraine, Reuters reported on Tuesday, May 13, citing three sources familiar with the matter.

According to the sources, Kellogg and Witkoff are going to Istanbul to participate in possible talks between russia and Ukraine. However, it is not yet clear who russia will send to the meeting in Turkey.

"US President Donald Trump's Envoys, Steve Witkoff and Keith Kellogg, will travel to Istanbul on Thursday for possible talks on how to end russia's war in Ukraine. A senior US official said Washington does not expect an announcement on Moscow's plans until early Thursday morning," the report said.

In addition, a senior American official said that the United States hopes for the russian federation's agreement to a comprehensive 30-day ceasefire on land, in the air, at sea and in critical infrastructure, to which the Ukrainian side has already agreed, the publication writes.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on May 12, US President Donald Trump admitted that he may visit Turkey on May 15 to participate in the negotiations between Zelenskyy and putin.

On May 13, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak said that Zelenskyy would conduct negotiations exclusively with putin.

As a reminder, on May 11, Zelenskyy said that he would personally wait for putin for bilateral talks.
