Rada wants to introduce sanctions mechanism against RF "shadow fleet"
The Verkhovna Rada intends to introduce a sanctions mechanism against the "shadow fleet" of the aggressor country of the russian federation.
This was announced by the MP from the Holos faction Yaroslav Zhelezniak in his Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
269 MPs voted for the bill No. 13020 as the basis for the minimum required 226.
The bill provides for the imposition of sanctions on vessels and aircraft involved in the russian shadow transportation of oil and petroleum products, weapons and military personnel.
According to current legislation, sanctions can be imposed on law firms, not on individual vessels.
The document provides for amendments to the Law "On Sanctions" regarding the application of sanctions to vessels and aircraft whose activities pose real and potential threats to the national interests, national security, territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.
The Security Service of Ukraine and intelligence are proposed to be given the task of identifying and establishing the facts of the use of such vessels.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 25, Ukraine arrested a foreign vessel of the "shadow fleet" of the aggressor country of russia, which was illegally exporting looted Ukrainian grain through Crimea.
