UAVs attack airfield near Moscow. Aerobatic teams participating in May 9 parade based there
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) struck a military airfield in the city of Kubinka, Moscow Oblast. It is home to two aerobatic teams of the aggressor country of russia, which annually participate in the Victory Day parade.
This is according to reports from russian media and Z-channels.
ASTRA reports that drones attacked an airfield in Kubinka and an airbase of the russian army near the settlement of Shaykovka, Kaluga Oblast.
According to data from the fire monitoring system of the American space agency NASA, fires broke out at the airfields in Kubinka and Shaykovka after the drone attack.
Russian Z-channel Fighterbomber, which specializes in aviation, confirmed that the airfield in Kubinka was attacked by drones.
"They are trying to spoil our parade and are hitting the locations of the personnel and equipment - the parade participants," the channel's author wrote.
The Z-blogger claims that the drone attack will not affect the air part of the parade.
"Strizhi" and "Ruski Vityazi" are aerobatics groups of the russian air force. They perform single and group aerobatics on MiG-29, Su-30 and Su-35 fighters. They take part in the air part of the parade, which the russians hold annually in Moscow on May 9.
