Kadyrov asking to be dismissed from post of head of Chechnya
The head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov asked to be dismissed. He said this in an interview with the publication Chechnya Segodnya, which was published on May 5.
Kadyrov commented on the rumors about his resignation to journalists.
"I also heard these rumors. They write all sorts of different things. I, on the contrary, ask to be dismissed from my post. Another person will have his own initiatives, his own vision. I hope that my request will be supported," he said.
In the past few years, the media have been reporting serious health problems with Kadyrov. On May 5, Novaya Gazeta. Europe published an investigation that reports on the deterioration of his health. According to journalists, this could have activated the process of preparing for a change of power in Chechnya.
According to the publication, Kadyrov has 14 children from several women, but only two play a significant role in his political plans: 26-year-old Aishat, a businesswoman and civil servant, and 17-year-old Adam, who will turn 18 in November.
It is reported that it is Adam that Kadyrov considers his successor. In Chechnya, he is already called the "young copy of Ramzan".
As a reminder, Kadyrov previously appointed his 17-year-old son Adam as the curator of the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic.
