Due to enemy attacks, UkrGasVydobuvannya lost almost 50% of its gas production
The UkrGasVydobuvannya joint-stock company, part of the Naftogaz group, lost almost 50% of its gas production due to repeated massive enemy shelling.
This is stated in a message of the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint-stock company, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"In 2024-2025, 34 UkrGasVydobuvannya facilities were attacked by the enemy. The most destructive was the attack in February 2025 - it caused significant damage to state gas production - losses reached almost 50% of volumes," the message states.
To maintain the heating season and compensate for the losses, Naftogaz urgently imported 800 million cubic meters of gas, balanced the system and began restoring the damaged infrastructure.
The report states that the UkrGasVydobuvannya team ensured the restoration of facilities, attracted additional equipment and already in March restored more than half of the production volumes lost as a result of the attack.
The implementation of the UkrGasVydobuvannya production program was ensured, which allowed putting 83 wells into operation and achieving in 2024 the maximum since 2017 production volume by the Naftogaz group enterprises - 14.6 billion cubic meters.
It is noted that UkrGasVydobuvannya implemented more than 30 projects to modernize surface infrastructure, which ensured additional production of more than 300 million cubic meters (137% more compared to 2021 and 3% more than in 2023).
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2024, UkrGasVydobuvannya, a part of the Naftogaz group, increased its production of commercial gas by 5.3%, or by 0.7 billion cubic meters, to 13.9 billion cubic meters.
