Russia violates "silence regime" on Easter 3,000 times - Zelenskyy
As of midnight on April 21, russian troops violated the ceasefire agreement 2,935 times. Head of State Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this in his Telegram, referring to the report of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
The largest number of attacks was recorded in the Pokrovsk Axis and in the area of the russian Kursk Oblast. In total, russia carried out 96 assault operations and 1,882 shelling of Ukrainian positions during the day, of which 812 were carried out with the use of heavy weapons. More than 950 uses of FPV attack drones were also recorded.
"Sunday, April 20, did not become an excuse for Moscow to stop the violence. It ignored both the proposal for a complete ceasefire for 30 days after Easter, and the initiative to maintain at least silence in the sky - without strikes on civilian infrastructure," Zelenskyy noted.
The President stressed that Ukraine will respond to actions with actions.
"We will respond to silence with silence. To blows with blows. Because actions always speak louder than words," he said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, russian president vladimir putin announced an "Easter truce," which allegedly involves a halt to all hostilities in Ukraine from the evening of April 19 to midnight on April 21.
Zelenskyy reported that during the "Easter truce," the aggressor state of russia conducted 26 assaults and increased the number of shelling and the use of kamikaze drones from 10 am. He stressed that russian president vladimir putin either does not fully control the army or has no goal of moving until the war is over.
