Russia launches 8 missiles and 87 drones over Ukraine at night, air defense forces shoot down 33 drones
On the night of Saturday, April 19, russian troops launched 8 missiles of various types and 87 drones over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to shoot down 33 drones, another 36 UAVs did not reach their targets (lost in location).
The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
It is noted that on the night of April 19 (9 p.m. on April 18), the russian occupiers carried out a strike on Ukraine with ground-based and air-based missiles and strike UAVs.
According to preliminary data, the radio-technical troops of the Air Forces detected 95 enemy air attack means:
- 3 Iskander-M ballistic missiles (launch area – Crimea);
- 2 Onyx anti-ship missiles (launch area – Crimea);
- 3 Kh-31P anti-radar missiles;
- 87 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of simulator drones from the areas of Millerovo, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (all – russia) and Hvardiiske (Crimea).
"As of 9:00 a.m., it was confirmed that 33 Shahed attack UAVs (other types of drones) were shot down in the east, north, south and the country. 36 enemy simulator drones were lost in location (without negative consequences)," the message says.
The Odesa, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia Regions suffered as a result of the enemy attack.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of April 18, the russians launched a strike on Ukraine with 6 ground-based missiles and 37 strike UAVs.
The air defense forces managed to shoot down 3 Iskander-K cruise missiles and 23 Shahed strike UAVs, and 10 enemy drones were lost in location.
