"RF preparing new strikes on Ukraine on eve of and after Easter," - Zelenskyy citing intelligence data
The aggressor country of russia is preparing and may strike Ukraine before and after Easter. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this on Thursday, April 17, citing intelligence and special services data.
According to him, Ukraine has preserved its energy system and has gone through the third winter of a full-scale war without a blackout. However, according to intelligence and special services, russia is preparing to attack Ukraine during the holidays.
"Of course, this does not mean that the threat is no longer there. We know what russia is preparing for. There is data from our special services, from intelligence. Now, both on the eve of Easter and after it, new strikes by russia are possible," the head of state emphasized.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 14, the Kyiv city government appealed to religious communities with a request to limit mass Easter services due to the possibility of russian shelling.
On April 16, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys said that the aggressor country of russia could launch a horrific attack on Ukraine on Easter.
In response, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi said that Ukraine viewed Budrys's words as an assumption, not an announcement.
