"I will not comment on intermediate stages of negotiations between Russia and US" – NATO Secretary General

"I have decided not to comment on all the intermediate stages of the negotiation process between the US and the aggressor country russia, because I do not want to interfere in it," NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced during a joint briefing with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Odesa on Tuesday, April 15. His words are quoted by Ukrinform.

Rutte noted that it is very important that US President Donald Trump has started the negotiation process with russia.

"And these are very important efforts. I have decided not to comment on all the intermediate stages of this project and process, because I do not want to interfere in it. We provide the assistance that we can, but I do not want to comment on the intermediate stages," said the NATO Secretary General.

According to him, the negotiations are necessary because the attacks continue, a lot of people are dying, cities are being destroyed.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 2, the US President's Special Envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said that Ukraine and russia are on the verge of a comprehensive ceasefire.

On April 4, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that russia had violated the terms of the ceasefire.

On April 11, the US State Department said that the only topic of Washington's negotiations with moscow is a ceasefire in Ukraine.
