National Security Committee recommends that Rada grant Digital Transformation Ministry defense status
The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence recommends that the parliament adopt as a basis a bill that proposes to include the Ministry of Digital Transformation in the security and defense sector.
This is stated in the conclusion to bill No. 13141, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The committee recommends including the relevant bill in the agenda and adopting it in the first reading.
The bill proposes to include the Ministry of Digital Transformation in the security and defense sector.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation should:
- ensure the formation and implementation of policies in the areas of digital innovations and technologies, robotics and robotization;
- perform functions to provide the security and defense sector with modern models of robotics, unmanned systems and other innovative technologies for defense needs, in particular dual-purpose and military technologies.
It is proposed to add to the powers of the Ministry of Digital Transformation:
- organization and coordination of testing and research of samples of robotics, unmanned systems and other innovative technologies;
- creation and support of infrastructure for testing, demonstration and demonstration of samples of robotics, unmanned systems and other innovative technologies;
- provision of components of the security and defense sector with robotics, unmanned systems and other innovative technologies.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada has created a system for responding to cyberattacks.
