Sumy Region records 30% increase in assaults – Regional Military Administration

Russian troops have intensified assault operations on the border of the Sumy Region, in particular near Zhuravka and Basivka. According to the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artiukh, 47 such attempts have been recorded in the last week alone.

Artiukh stated this during a meeting of the Defense Council.

"Over the last week, the intensity of enemy assault operations on the border of the region has increased by 30%," the head of the Regional Military Administration reported.

According to him, russian troops continue to shell the border, in particular - civilian and critical infrastructure facilities. This week, food industry enterprises came under the sights of the occupiers: "bread and meat processing plants, dairies, etc."

“The enemy is focused on conducting a counteroffensive operation in the Kursk Oblast, but our military is giving a worthy rebuff to the enemy and inflicting significant losses on it,” Artiukh noted.

He also emphasized that Ukrainian aviation has significantly increased its activity: “This is very important for supporting the Security and Defense Forces in destroying enemy forces and assets.”

The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that in recent days russia has dropped 307 guided bombs on the territory of the region. The communities of Krasnopillia, Myropil, Yunakivka, Khotyn and Velyka Pysarivka were the most affected.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Syrskyi previously announced that the russian offensive on the Sumy and Kharkiv Regions has actually begun, and the occupiers have increased the number of offensive activities in all main directions.
