NATO exercises in the Netherlands rehearse repelling russian air attack — media
NATO countries are simulating retaliatory actions in the event of an attack by an aggressor country, russia, on one of the alliance members during the Ramstein Flag 2025 exercises, which are currently taking place in the Netherlands.
According to The Moscow Times, it was reported by the German news agency DPA.
At least 18 NATO countries are participating in the exercises, which have gathered about 100 aircraft for joint maneuvers.
Pilots from the alliance member countries have already rehearsed repelling an air attack and destroying the air defense systems of a hypothetical enemy.
And today and tomorrow, March 10 and 11, NATO aircraft will conduct maneuvers to provide support to ground forces conducting defense.
According to DPA, the exercises are designed to demonstrate to NATO countries that their air forces are able to act in a coordinated and effective manner.
The exercises should also serve as a signal to кussia, whose attack on one of the alliance members is feared by NATO.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 26 of this year, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte threatened russia with a "devastating response" if moscow dares to attack any of the alliance members.
Recall that in October 2024, a new NATO headquarters began operating in Germany, the tasks of which include monitoring russia's actions in the Baltic region.
