"Constructive dialogue": putin's envoy reports on results of his visit to US

Vladimir putin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev told russian journalists that Moscow is counting on "restoring dialogue" with the United States, which, according to him, was "interrupted by the Biden administration."

"One of the main topics is the restoration of russian-American relations and the dialogue that was interrupted during the Biden administration. Many countries are trying to disrupt the dialogue (between the US and russia - ed.). Russia wants to emphasize that the Trump administration is aimed at restoring relations," Dmitriev said after a meeting with Donald Trump's representative Steve Witkoff.

He also said that the American side "hears russia's position" and is allegedly ready for "constructive solutions."

According to Dmitriev, during the meeting with American representatives, the topics of mutual investments were discussed.

He noted that he "sees a great desire of American companies" to return to the russian market, but stressed that business will be able to enter only where "it will be beneficial for russia and where the authorities approve it."

The Kremlin envoy also mentioned that russia was not included in the list of countries affected by the new American tariffs imposed by the Trump administration.

In addition, according to him, negotiations are currently underway on the "restoration of air traffic" between the russian federation and the United States, as well as on "active joint activities in the Arctic" and "restoration of religious and cultural relations."

"The dialogue process is proceeding positively and constructively," Dmitriev summed up.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, US President's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff met in Washington with the head of the russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev, who arrived in the American capital.

On April 1, russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Sergei Ryabkov said that Moscow could not accept US proposals to end the war against Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the US realized that it would not be possible to end the war in the coming months.
