Trump's call with putin going on for over hour – Reuters

US President Donald Trump and russian dictator vladimir putin began a phone call at 4:00 p.m. (2:00 p.m. GMT), Reuters reported on Tuesday, March 18, citing the White House.

The White House said the call began at 10 a.m. Eastern Time (2:00 p.m. GMT, 4:00 p.m. Kyiv time).

"Happening Now – President Trump is currently in the Oval Office speaking with President Vladimir Putin of Russia since 10 a.m. EDT. The call is going well, and is still in progress," White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino wrote on his X account.

The publication recalls that Trump and putin are discussing the 30-day ceasefire proposed by the United States.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on March 17, US President Donald Trump told reporters that he would hold a conversation with the russian leader on March 18.

The White House named the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant as one of the topics of the talks.

Recall, on March 14, Trump said that russian dictator vladimir putin was willing to agree to the proposal for a temporary ceasefire.
