Ukraine opens consulate general in Mumbai, India
Ukraine has opened a consulate general in Mumbai, India.
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced this on X, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Sybiha reported on a meaningful meeting with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and a detailed conversation about the path to peace.
"At the beginning of our meeting, we officially opened the Consulate General of Ukraine in Mumbai. Even during the war, we are expanding our diplomatic presence in India. This indicates our readiness to increase bilateral trade, cooperation and dialogue," he said.
Sybiha also noted that India is demonstrating impressive technological progress and, given Ukrainian innovations and wartime know-how, technological cooperation between the countries has great potential.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Sybiha is on a working visit to India from March 17 to 19. According to the Foreign Ministry, the key topics of the talks will be progress towards a just peace in Ukraine and India's role in this process.
Ukraine previously had an honorary consulate in Mumbai.
