Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups become more active in Sumy Region, using fiber-optic drones and accumulating forces – State Border Guard Service
Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups continue to attempt to penetrate the territory of Ukraine, especially in the north of the Sumy Region.
The spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andrii Demchenko has reported this on the air of a telethon.
"Attempts by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups to enter continue. We are more actively recording such actions in the north of the Sumy Region. At the same time, there is a risk of attempts by enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups to enter for other sections of the border with Russia within the Sumy Region. One of them was actually discovered on the approaches to our border in the Sumy District, but this is a different area than, for example, the section where the Defense Forces of Ukraine are conducting an operation in the Kursk Oblast. Therefore, the enemy will continue to use various tactics in order to try to enter our territory," says Demchenko.
"If we talk again about enemy sabotage and reconnaissance, this is an attempt to expose the construction of our defense or to inflict damage on our positions with our own forces, or to mine the area," the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine added.
In addition, according to him, the occupiers are trying to transfer small assault groups in the direction of Novenke and Zhuravka in order to accumulate forces and expand the zone of combat operations. However, the Ukrainian military effectively destroys these units before they cross the border.
The occupiers also continue to shell the Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv Regions. The most attacks are recorded on the Sumy and Kharkiv axes, the russians are actively using drones equipped with explosives and FPV drones, in particular on fiber-optic control.
On the border with the Kharkiv Region, the main enemy activity is observed in the areas of Lyptsi and Vovchansk, where fierce battles continue.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, there is currently no evidence of the occupiers approaching the Ukrainian border from the territory of Belarus or of the accumulation of troops opposite the Kyiv Region.
