Border Service explains whether there is currently threat of attack on Ukraine from Belarus
There is currently no threat of an attack on the territory of Ukraine from the border with Belarus.
This was reported by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andrii Demchenko, at a briefing of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
"The Belarusian direction remains a priority. At the same time, on the other side of the border, we do not see any strike groups being formed or any forces accumulating that could pose a threat to us," the spokesman said.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine also reported that the situation on the border with Belarus remains under control, and work on engineering the border to ensure the possibility of a quick response in the event of a change in the situation is not stopped.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that russian troops are sending small assault groups in the direction of the settlement of Novenke, Sumy Region, to gain a foothold in order to cut off the logistics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, the Center for Countering Disinformation reported that in the area of the village of Novenke, Sumy Region, the russians are attempting assault operations with infantry groups, but there is no breakthrough of the border.
Also in July 2024, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, announced the deployment of Iskander complexes near the border with Ukraine.
