Russia deploys about 620,000 troops in war against Ukraine - Defense Intelligence
The number of the russian ground army fighting against Ukraine is 620,000, not including the rear units.
This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Major General Vadym Skibitsky.
He said this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
"If we talk about the ground component, it is approximately 620,000, and more than 200,000 are assault units that participate in hostilities and are on the front line," he noted.
It is also reported that there are also 35,000 russian guard servicemen who provide security for the occupying authorities and protect the most important facilities in the temporarily occupied territories. According to their plans, if necessary, they can perform tasks in the second echelon of the enemy during the organization of defense.
There are also troops that provide logistical support, units of the russian Black Sea Fleet, and aircraft that are not directly based, for example, in areas of combat operations, but are involved in delivering combat strikes.
"After all, the aggressor currently uses more than 20 airfields and air bases on the territory of russia to deliver both bombing and missile strikes on our territory," Skibitskyi said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the head of the Defense Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, believes that it is possible to end the war in 2025, because russia has reasons for this.
On February 8, the US Department of State announced that the United States and the aggressor country, russia, had agreed to begin work on ending the russian federation's war against Ukraine.
On February 17, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine and its partners had made significant progress in the issue of deploying a foreign military contingent in the country.
Recall, on February 13, Trump said that he had held "great negotiations" with the aggressor country of russia and Ukraine, and that there was a good opportunity to end the war.
