Council member found dead in Lviv Region. Police considering suicide version

The body of a member of the Mykolaivska City Council, Volodymyr Skakun, was found in the Lviv Region. The 45-year-old man was found dead in his own car in a forest plantation.

This was reported by the local portal Lviv.media.

According to information received from law enforcement agencies, Volodymyr Skakun disappeared several days ago. His body was found on Tuesday, February 25.

The Lviv Region police officially confirmed the launching of criminal proceedings under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Intentional Murder" with a note about a possible suicide. The circumstances of the death are currently being investigated.

"With a sense of deep sorrow, we inform you that yesterday, February 25, 2025, as a result of an accident, a member of the Mykolaivska City Council, Volodymyr Bohdanovych Skakun, died," Mykolaiv Mayor Andrii Shchebel noted in his address.

Volodymyr Skakun was a resident of the village of Rozvadiv, located near the city of Mykolaiv, Lviv Region. He represented the Ukrainian Galician Party in the city council of the eighth convocation.

The city government of Mykolaiv expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

As previously reported, former MP and well-known Poltava developer Ihor Siryk was killed in a road accident in Tunisia.
