The Verkhovna Rada intends to allow the involvement of veterans of the russian-Ukrainian war in preparing citizens for national resistance.

Member of Parliament from the Servant of the People faction, member of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Oleksandr Fedienko (Servant of the People) announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

275 parliamentarians voted for bill No. 9421 as the basis, with the minimum required 226.

The bill provides for the possibility of involving war veterans in organizing and implementing tasks to prepare citizens of Ukraine for national resistance, taking into account the combat experience gained by war veterans.

Fedienko explained that the bill will allow the implementation of a program developed together with the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry for Veterans Affairs, to use veterans of military service in the educational process of basic military training.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, a course of basic general military training will be launched for students of higher educational institutions, which men will take on a mandatory basis, and women - on a voluntary basis.
