Russians reduce frequency of cargo transportation via Crimea bridge - Navy
Russians have reduced the frequency of cargo transportation via the Crimea bridge, currently the occupiers cannot fully use this overpass due to previous damage.
This was reported by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk.
"As for the loads on the bridge, this is due to the damage it received at one time during a successful joint operation of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Navy... Using the railway in full to transfer heavy armored vehicles is, of course, risky, and the enemy knows this very well," the spokesman said during a telethon.
According to him, the automobile part of this combined bridge crossing remains, and it is possible to transport equipment on trawls. The enemy also has the opportunity to transport ammunition and personnel by trucks.
"But this is a slightly different format - it is more complicated and longer. Therefore, the bridge remains, firstly, a symbolic structure. Secondly, of course, it connects the mainland of the so-called russian federation with the temporarily occupied Crimea. This is an artificially grown umbilical cord with which they are trying to tie the Ukrainian Crimea," the spokesman emphasized.
He added that the symbolism of this structure for the Kremlin is very high. According to the military, of course, "illegal tourists" from the russian federation can always come and look at the "imperial achievements" of their dictator, which is also important for them.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the spokesman for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, stated that russia is building an unknown defensive structure in the area of the Kerch Bridge. However, the russian occupiers are unlikely to be able to complete the work this season due to difficult weather conditions.
