Russia first realizes its mistake regarding full-scale invasion of Ukraine - Budanov

Russia realized that it made a mistake regarding a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

This was stated by the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, during a forum dedicated to the third year of the full-scale war, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"For the first time, the top leadership of the russian federation realized what a terrible mistake they made in 2022. Because they were based on false intelligence data, huge funds were written off for this. The russian federation planned to enter Kyiv in 3 days and suppress various pockets of resistance in 10 days," Budanov said.

According to him, they did not abandon their goal, but the pace is not what the russians set as the goal.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, believes that Ukraine will be able to achieve a ceasefire in 2025. Budanov considers the introduction of peacekeepers a dubious guarantee of security for Ukraine. EU leaders have warned Ukraine against a ceasefire without a peace agreement. Two-thirds of Ukrainians want to start negotiations on a freeze on hostilities.
