After introduction of restrictions, Ukraine increases electricity imports

After the introduction of restrictions for industry and business, Ukraine increases electricity imports in February.

This is stated in the ExPro publication, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

However, the reserved capacity is still not used by 100%.

According to ExPro Electricity monitoring data, the average daily import of electricity for February 11-17, 2025 is 10,500 MWh, which is twice as much as the indicator for February 1-10.

In general, almost 130,000 MWh of electricity have been imported since the beginning of February, with the largest amount coming from Hungary (36%).

According to ExPro calculations, the reserved section for imports is currently actually used by only 30-40%.

Despite the need for electricity during the evening peak hours, supplies for this period of the day amount to about 1 GW (out of 2.1 GW of technical capacity).

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, electricity consumption continues to rise in Ukraine.
