EU leaders warn Ukraine against ceasefire without peace deal
European leaders, who gathered for a summit in Paris on February 17, warned Ukraine against freezing hostilities on the front without concluding a peace deal.
Reuters reported this, citing a European official.
According to him, European countries are ready to provide Ukraine with security guarantees, but consider it dangerous to cease fire without reaching a peace deal.
"We are ready to provide security guarantees, with modalities to be examined with each party, depending on the level of American support," the EU official said.
He also noted that European leaders support U.S. President Donald Trump's approach to "peace through strength."
"We believe it is dangerous to conclude a ceasefire without a peace agreement at the same time," the official added.
