In 2024, ferroalloy plants resumed their work in April-May after a forced shutdown in the fall of 2023, but reduced production output by 49.4% to 108,200 tons.
This is evidenced by data from the portal of the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
It is noted that the production of silicomanganese decreased by 45% to 104,200 tons, and ferromanganese by 66.5% to 3,600 tons.
The output of ferrosilicon (recalculated at 45%) and other ferroalloys amounted to 0.12 ton and 0.28 ton, respectively.
The production of metallic manganese and manganese concentrate was not carried out last year.
In 2024, the industries reduced the export of ferroalloys by 4.5 times - to 77,300 tons from 344,200 tons in 2023.
Exports were carried out to markets close to us: to Poland (27.4% of deliveries in monetary terms), Turkey (21.5%) and Italy (19.8%).
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, in November 2023, the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (Dnipropetrovsk Region) and the Zaporizhzhia Ferroalloy Plant suspended production.
The Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant is the largest producer of ferroalloys in Ukraine, controlled by the EastOne group and the former owners of PrivatBank.
