Poroshenko's MP used force against Servant of the People MP Kamelchuk. "Victim’s" statement
A member of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, Yurii Kamelchuk, claims that an MP from the European Solidarity faction, Mykhailo Bondar, used force against him.
He told journalists about this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"I witnessed an unpleasant incident of physical abuse against me. Mykhailo Bondar, a parliamentarian, my colleague from the European Solidarity faction, used force," he said.
According to Kamelchuk, this is not the first case of Bondar using force against him.
He recalled that he had previously appealed to the State Bureau of Investigation due to an attack by Bondar at a meeting of the Rada's Energy Committee.
After today's incident, Kamelchuk is not going to appeal to the State Bureau of Investigation or the court.
"I'm not going to go to the State Investigation Bureau now, but I think the communication methods in the Verkhovna Rada are absolutely unacceptable," he added.
"I was standing right next to the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and wanted to take away the paper that Iryna Herashchenko (co-chair of the European Solidarity faction) was pushing on his face so that it was not visible, just in the frame and that's it. After that, Mykhailo wrung my hands and, unfortunately, slightly injured my hand," he said about the incident in the session hall.
Kamelchuk is convinced that the Rada's Rules Committee must definitely consider Bondar's behavior.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Rada began and immediately closed the session.
