Zelenskyy calls on EU to impose sanctions against russian tanker captains
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine has expanded sanctions pressure on captains of the shadow fleet of the aggressor country russia. He stressed that similar measures should be introduced at the level of the European Union.
The President said this in an evening video address.
"We in Ukraine have recently expanded sanctions pressure so that not only tankers from Russia are under sanctions, not only the companies to which they are registered, but also so that the captains of these vessels, people who work for the war, also feel this pressure," he said.
He added that this must be achieved at the pan-European level.
"This must be supported at the pan-European level – the European Union must join these sanctions in the energy sector," the President summed up.
Recall that Ukraine previously published a list of captains of vessels transporting stolen grain and sanctioned oil.
