Russians blow up their agent in building of territorial recruitment and social support center in Rivne – SSU

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has documented the crimes of the occupiers who on February 1 organized a terrorist attack in the Rivne regional territorial center for recruitment and social support, using a "secret" recruited agent.

The SSU press service has announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

It is noted that the russian agent was deliberately blown up along with the explosives with which he entered the building.

"As a result of the incident, the terrorist died on the spot, and 8 servicemen suffered injuries of varying severity," the report says.

The SSU established that russia had prepared in advance the elimination of its agent as an unnecessary witness to the terrorist attack against the Defense Forces.

According to the case materials, the terrorist turned out to be a 21-year-old unemployed man from Zhytomyr region, who was looking for quick money on Telegram channels.

There he was recruited by a representative of the russian special services, who offered the man money for the completed task.

On his instructions, the agent arrived in Rivne with an improvised explosive device (IED) disguised in a backpack.

It was established that the explosive was equipped with a mobile phone, to which the russian special services had remote access.

The suspect held another remote-controlled gadget in his hands when he entered the building of the Rivne regional territorial center for recruitment and social support.

"Using the phone's camera, Russian special services recorded the moment when the agent entered the premises with the explosive and immediately activated the IED via a call," the SSU said.

An investigation is currently underway as part of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 of Article 258 (terrorist act) of the Criminal Code.

Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the crime and the perpetrators.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on February 4, law enforcement officers detained two 19-year-old men who were preparing a terrorist attack near the district police department in the center of Rivne.
