Moscow reports drone attack: three airports temporarily suspend operations
On Friday night, January 24, moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported a drone attack on the russian capital. As a result, three moscow airports — Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Vnukovo — temporarily suspended operations.
According to Sobyanin, air defense forces allegedly shot down drones in the city districts of Kolomna, Ramenskoye, Podolsk, Troitsky Administrative District, and Shchelkovo.
The airports resumed operations at about 2:00 a.m. Kyiv time.
Russian media and publications also reported explosions in several regions of russia, including near the Ryazan Oil Refinery.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the evening of January 23, Ryazan, russia, was attacked by drones. According to eyewitnesses, the explosions were heard in the area of a local oil depot. According to social media, at least 12 explosions were heard near the Ryazan Oil Refinery.
Social media posts were posting footage of explosions and fires at the oil depot. In addition, local media outlets were reporting that the target of the attack could also have been the airfield in Diaghilev. There were also reports of explosions on the territory of the Novo-Ryazan Thermal Power Plant. A large-scale fire broke out there.
On the night of January 7-8, Ukrainian strike drones attacked the russian city of Engels. Reports on social media indicate that an oil depot was hit during the attack.
