Kobolev did not appear in court in Naftogaz bonus case because he went abroad, but participated via video link
Today, the High Anti-Corruption Court will continue the consideration of the indictment against the former chairman of the board of Naftogaz Andrii Kobolev, although he himself is currently abroad.
This is reported by Ukrainian News Agency.
The case was scheduled for consideration at 09:00 a.m.
Kobolev did not appear in court because he is abroad, but joined via video conference.
The prosecutor did not object to Kobolev's participation via video link from abroad.
However, the prosecutor reported threats that Kobolev may not return from abroad, fearing criminal liability.
"He may not return from this trip," the prosecutor noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, last year the High Anti-Corruption Court again obliged the former chairman of the board of Naftogaz NJSC Andrii Kobolev to surrender his passport and imposed other obligations on him. Although previously the ban on Kobolev traveling abroad was lifted and other obligations were canceled, which is why the SAPO accused the High Anti-Corruption Court of sabotaging the hearings in Kobolev's case and may initiate a new preventive measure against him. Andrii Kobolev's guarantors are demanding the return of more than UAH 44 million.
