lifecell to raise tariffs in February
The cost of tariffs for the third operator by the number of subscribers, lifecell, will rise in February.
This was said by CEO DVL (Datagroup, Volia and lifecell) Mykhailo Shelemba in an interview with Forbes Ukraine, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
“Unfortunately, there will be a forced change in prices for existing subscribers. It will take place in February,” Mykhailo Shelemba said.
The report states that the reason is the increase in the cost of electricity.
“All operators have felt the increase in the cost of electricity. Over the past year, it has almost doubled. This year, we are planning to spend UAH 2.3 billion on this,” Shelemba added.
“Thanks to cost optimization, we will do it half as much as economic conditions require. The last time the price for existing subscribers increased was almost a year and a half ago, and not for everyone, but only for 15% of the base,” said the CEO DVL.
It is noted that the price review will not apply to new customers who have transferred their number to lifecell since December.
They had the opportunity to fix the cost of the tariff until the end of the year.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, more than half a million subscribers switched to the mobile operator lifecell, which is part of the DVL group of companies.
Vodafone Ukraine announced its intention to increase the tariffs of the new Joice line and the Turbo tariff by UAH 70-120 from December 24.
In December 2024, Kyivstar announced an increase in tariffs by an average of 25%.
