Russian soldier shot commander dead over torture and extortion in unit – ATESH

A russian serviceman shot his commander dead over brutal abuse and extortion in unit. The incident occurred on January 14 in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia Region.

According to the ATESH movement, a driver-mechanic of the 64th separate motorized rifle brigade (military unit 51460) near Huliaipole wounded a sergeant with a Kalashnikov assault rifle and shot the commander of his grenade launcher platoon.

After this incident, the unit command began to introduce additional measures to control personal weapons due to fear of new attacks on officers and sergeants.

Russian servicemen complain about unbearable service conditions and constant psychological and physical pressure from the command staff.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the occupiers have deployed new air defense systems to protect the airport in Crimea, exposing other areas of the front.
