Ukraine will be left without money. Trump suspends all foreign aid programs for 90 days – AP

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an order temporarily suspending all U.S. foreign aid programs for 90 days to conduct checks on their compliance with the policy goals of the new administration.

According to the AP, the order states that "the foreign aid industry and bureaucracy are not aligned with American interests and in many cases antithetical to American values".

"No further United States foreign assistance shall be disbursed in a manner that is not fully aligned with the foreign policy of the President of the United States," Trump said.

The order also states that current programs contribute to destabilization by supporting ideas that contradict harmonious relations both within countries and between them.

The suspension applies to all programs, including financial assistance to Ukraine. This decision could complicate funding for key areas such as defense, the economy and humanitarian projects.

It is expected that after the inspections, the Trump administration will decide which programs will resume funding.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 24, Ukraine received the first USD 1 billion from the United States, secured by proceeds from frozen assets of the aggressor country, russia.

On December 13, CNN, citing a senior Biden administration official, stated that the administration is working to increase arms supplies to Ukraine in the last days of his tenure.
