UK to allocate funds for production of air defense and long-range weapons for Ukraine

The United Kingdom will finance the production of air and missile defense for Ukraine. London will also allocate funds for the production of long-range weapons for the Ukrainian army.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov announced this on January 13.

He said that he had arrived in the UK to meet with the Secretary of State for Defense John Healey.

According to Umerov, the main topics of conversation were the coordination of plans for bilateral cooperation in this regard.

"The UK confirmed its readiness to provide constant and comprehensive support to strengthen Ukraine's positions both on the battlefield and in the international arena," Umerov wrote.

The Minister added that this year the UK will finance the production of air defense and long-range weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on January 10, Bloomberg reported that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer would visit Ukraine in the coming days to discuss sending a peacekeeping mission.

Recall that on January 9, the British government announced that Ukraine would soon receive 30,000 drones as part of the efforts of the "drone coalition."
